After getting the vaccine, will I still have to wear a mask, socially distance and follow other precautions?

For now, yes. Because COVID-19 is still circulating in Manitoba, a cautious approach is still recommended. This means it is best to still follow the fundamentals, like wearing a mask, social distancing and washing your hands.

However, new guidance and privileges are now emerging for fully vaccinated individuals. You are considered fully vaccinated 14 days after your second dose.

For example, in Manitoba fully vaccinated individuals can dine indoors with other households at a restaurant, or visit a personal care home resident. They can also skip self-isolation after domestic travel to other provinces.

As more people get the second dose, and full protection, we anticipate these rules will continue to change.
