Are some children more at risk from COVID-19?

The vaccine is recommended for all children aged five and over, regardless of their health status. However some children may be at increased risk from COVID-19, and thus may benefit more from vaccination. For example, children who are immuno-compromised or have health conditions that increase their risk for a serious COVID-19 infection. This includes children with obesity, chronic neurologic disorders including neuro-developmental disorders, and chronic lung disease (excluding asthma).
